Posting.

Well, I am Danny and i am blogging. I haven't done this since i had the "pound it club" blog. I wonder what happened to that... Well i am putting on this picture i made today. I was bored. Bye....(i am gone)

Baby Update

Yesterday we went to the doctor so I thought I would give you all an update.

The doctor says everything is going really well and that if I had the baby anytime, we shouldn't have any problems. Last week when we went, Benson weighed 5 pounds 10 ounces. This week he weighs 6 pounds 8 ounces. So he gained about 14 ounces in one week (as far as they can tell). So he's getting a lot bigger!

The doctor also says that he doesn't think I'll go up to my due date (September 23). he said that right now I'm dialated to a 1 and I'm 75% effaced, so if he had to guess when he'll be coming, he would guess a week before the due date.

Apparently being effaced is really good. The doctor says that especially with your first baby, being effaced is more important than being dialated. But everything looks good and Benson is super duper big and strong.

We'll keep you posted on how things are going!

Stuff

Tami... I want to know how your first real day of school was and I don't ever remember to call you at appropriate times. How was it???

Also, Tami and Nat... (and anyone else who cares) Joni is adding pictures to the Burger Bar video (check their website for more info www.easysite.com/hawsfamily) and wanted me to tell you to send her your pictures.

Hope you're all well. I love and miss you all. I think you should all post some new pictures! ;)

And Nat... I hope Benson comes soon. Hang in there, I know you can make it!

Love, Em

Family Pictures (REVISED)

Hello Everyone,

Mom wants pictures of our family to display at Ronola's 50th wedding anniversary and then to hang on her wall. She asked me to print up one big family picture and then one smaller one of each couple and the boys. She told me just to choose which ones, but I don't know which ones to print of all of you and your spouses.

Will you please let me know which picture you would like printed up of you for her to hang on her wall?

I would really appreciate everyone's input on this.
Thanks!

Here is a link to all of the family pictures. If you hold your mouse over the picture, it will give you the filename, then please let me know the file name of the one you like best for yourself.

My New Camera

A post for no reason

I just wanted to put up pictures of my kids. I don't really have a good reason so I'm just going to come out with it and confess that I'm obsessed with blogging. So there it is. You all know you expected me to post every day, didn't you...

My sweet Lila Bean.

This is one of the pictures I got while I was playing with my new camera (Nikon D50). I thought it was a cute one of Abby.

Rock Climbin

So Cory, Danny and I went rock climbing this morning. We went to Pete's Rock right by the trail head to Mt Olympus in Salt Lake. We had an awesome time. I was rather impressed with Cory's beginner climbing abilities. He did a heck of a lot better than Danny..... oh ok Danny did a great jorb too. We all were able to climb three routes ranging in difficulty form 5.6 (beginner) to 5.9 (intermediate technical). And the best part was that no one had to get stitches (ok mostly me). Cory took some pictures with his iPhone and they are on his .mac gallery. Take a look at them. The pictures don't do the difficulty justice.

Good Luck Mrs. Jones

Dear Mrs. Jones,
I just wanted to wish you a happy first day of school. I know you'll do great! Happy Kindergartening!

Love,
Em

Marino Farm & Apple Picking

I promise I won't post every day, but we actually did something fun today so I thought I'd post a few pictures. We went to a farm where you get to ride a cute train and pet the animals. Notice in the above picture Lila is trying to figure out what the baby goat is doing. (It's nursing).

Abby and Zack just hung out in the stroller (casualty of being twins, I guess... you don't get out of the stroller much!)

We got to go apple picking too. Lila thought it was pretty cool. Who knew that apples actually grew on trees!

Anyway, it was fun and I am enjoying my new camera though I have lots to figure out still! Post a comment and let me know what you think!

35 weeks

Emily requested pictures of my belly, and so I'm adding our most recent maternity picture on here. This was last week.

Also, I wanted to let everyone know about coming up to the hospital when I have the baby. Since we have so many people that would like to be there, only mom & dad and Casey's parents are going to be able to come up while I'm having the baby. I've given mom the assignment to call each of you and let you know how things are going and to let you know when he's born. Once I've had the baby, we would really like for everyone to come up and see him and hold him and visit with us.

We really appreciate all of you guys being so supportive and helpful to us. We're excited to have this baby, but it's kind of scary, so it's nice to know that we have good parents and brothers and sisters who are behind us. (Oh, and we might need babysitters sometimes)... Anyway, love you all and we'll hopefully see you all soon.

Timpanogos Cave

So, I guess I better jump on this "blogging-bandwagon!" Our exciting weekend took us to Timpanogos Cave with our friends from "the village." I had never been there...or at least I don't remember if I ever have been, but it was really cool and I recommend it to anyone who hasn't been there. We got there just as the rain was ending, so it was a nice cool hike for us. The only thing that was bad was that they charge $7 per person to get into the cave, plus $3 per vehicle to drive into the canyon. But, I guess those park rangers have to make money somehow. :) Enjoy the pics!

Whoo Hoo!!

I'm so excited about joining the blogging world! Johnny said I can't post a hundred pictures. I really wanted to but he said I could only post 5. We'll see what happens! These are all pictures of when we were there in Utah. Also, I'd like to make a request. Could I please see a picture of Nat's belly! Thanks!

Love and miss you all!
Em

To Casey...

My dear Casey,

Ok. So I am feeling kind of like the green popsicles in my fridge (they're the ones I don't like so I am leaving them till the last.) Maybe you think I'll monopolize the blog (which I might). Maybe I made your wife cry (which I'm sure I did). Maybe you thought Johnny and I communicated about stuff and he would tell me about the blog (which he obviously didn't). Or maybe, just maybe you simply forgot to invite me to be a part of the blog... I searched all my old emails thinking I must have missed the invite but there's nothing there. Please Casey, please let me be a part of the blog!! I promise I'll post good stuff!

Love, Emily

(Imagine Lila in this picture begging... please, Casey PLEASE!!!)

Nat's picture

Hey Natalie,
I wanted to tell you congratulations for winning first place for your picture! It is impressive. I hope you won something.
Well Done!
Tami

A note from Tami

Wow Brady, sounds like scout camp was a hit. I enjoyed hearing about your experiences there. I was glad you shared what you did. It was good to hear that the boys all became friends. Too bad you had to cut your head open though, but at least everyone else wasn't out there doing a body search for your body.

I never did see the fishing video of Andy...Good thing Casey left the link there. My computer at work doesn't let me use quicktime.

I feel like I want to add a blog about Nick and I but I have nothing to report.
I am making a very cute quilt though. That's about all that's new.

If any of you would like to visit my blog, it is nickandtami.blogspot.com It's been up for a few months.

It was fun to all be together last night. Thanks for coming over everyone (besides Emily's family which have an excuse). It was fun to hang out.

Tami

Natalie the photographer...

Natalie entered this picture in the Weber County Fair this year and won first place! She was even in the Professional/Amateur catagory, so that is pretty awesome!

Brady at scout camp

Good for you, Brady. I'm glad that your scout camp turned out so well. Looks like you're one heck of a leader. Too bad about your head, but it doesn't look as bad as I thought it would.

Keep up the good work.

SCOUT CAMP ROCKS!!!!!!!!!!

So most of you probably know that I spent the last week at Scout Camp. I figured I'd report on the adventure. So we went to the BLAB (Bear Lake Aquatics Base) at... you guessed it, Bear Lake. We had an awesome time. Just a few of the highlights (or lowlights) were:

  • I had to get 15 stitches on my forehead day one by diving into shallow water! (I'll tell you all the story later.)

  • The troop won the troop yell on Wed. which gave us the spirit paddle for the day.

  • The troop hid the shoes of two other troops and tied their tents closed with fishing line during the night.

  • The kid (from another troop) that decided to run around with the monkey suit, tripped on our tent lines as he came around to scare us and ate it hard into the dirt. He laid there for a few while we laughed at him.

  • We had to help do a body search at the waterfront for a missing boy. His friends went back to camp, told their leader the last place they had seen him was at the waterfront and his buddy tag was still hanging up. So Cody (the scoutmaster) and I joined the lifeguard staff to walk through the water looking for a body. We did three passes when one of the staff members informed us that the kid had been at the climbing wall. We were relieved to not have to trip over some kids body in the water, but it was annoying that we had to be freezing in the water and the dark while he was at the climbing wall.

  • The troop would have won the spirit paddle again on Friday morning, but a troop can only win it once a week. Instead it went to a troop that did the haka. Our boys did a great job with troop yells.

  • At the closing campfire, we won an award for being one of the honor troops. We did service project in all areas of the camp. We cleaned up the shotgun range, helped everyday doing some kind of service at the waterfront (including the body search), helped dismantle the archery range and carried in most of the stuff from the waterfront (it was the last week of camp for the summer so the had to put stuff into storage) and we helped twice to clean up the mess hall.

  • The highlight of the whole camp was when our troop, which going into the camp most boys had problems with at least two or more of the other boys) rallied together and became good friends. We worried about having to deal with the problems, but were greatly surprised by the boys. We ended up being awarded the spirit troop of the week, and were given the spirit paddle to bring home with us.
I know this may sound like a dorky trip to some of you, but having been there and seen the change in ALL of the boys, I was amazed. It made the efforts we as leaders made worth it. This was by far the best camp I have ever been apart of. I loved it!

I thought this would be awesome to have a blog for the Haws family. Hope we all use it and keep in touch!
