In the Shadow of the Moon

I wanted to put a plug in for a fabulous movie...some of you may have heard me and Brady talking about it earlier this year. It's called "In the Shadow of the Moon." (be sure to check out the trailer!) We saw it at the Sundance Film Festival in January and it's finally in select theaters. We saw it again tonight and I would love for all of you to see it! (If you don't see it in theaters, I'm sure we'll own it when it comes out on DVD and you can borrow it, but it's better to see on a big screen.) Anyways, it's about the Apollo space program and their travels to the moon and back. It's basically a documentary, but so incredibly well done. If you get a chance to come down to SLC, it's playing at the Broadway Theater. I'm sure it's playing somewhere in Boston too. It's a feel-good-proud-to-be-an-American kind of movie! :)

I am Optimus Prime, Leader of the Autobots!!

Thanks Nick for giving me something to waste my night on. Shawnee and I have had a blast sending people messages from Optimus Prime to everyone I thought would appreciate it. (I tried to send it to Johnny, but it wouldn't let me send it after 9 pm... so I'll try tomorrow.)
Anyway I also made myself into a Transformer whilst I was there. This is the result.

Thanks again for the fun Cobain Nicholads!!

Casey and his Hot Dog

Here is Benson is his Halloween costume! (He really didn't get eaten)

Why I'm sore...

On Saturday my sister (Crystal) talked me into running this 5k with her. I wasn't a very willing participant, but I did it anyway. The problem with the whole run was that I hadn't run 3 miles since I was a sophomore. I also haven't been running hardly at all lately, so I knew this race would be extremely hard, which it was. Natalie said that I looked pretty funny because she kept seeing people come across the finish line with short shorts, tight shirts and running shoes, and then I came around the corner to the finish line with my huge baggy basketball shorts, and tee shirt, and my 4 year old worn out basketball shoes (that accounts for the hugs blisters on my toes). Needless to say I didn't fit in. But I did finish, and that was my goal. After the race they "randomly" handed out prizes to people and I was lucky enough to get the only pair of running shorts. Coincidence? I think not.

An idea for Emily...

I guess this might be good for Natalie too :)

Mommy's New Do

I cut my hair! Thanks to the creativity and skill of Amber Schiffman, I have a new hairstyle. She cut off about 7 inches leaving me with a much easier and much more stylish haircut...

Here are some pictures

And here are some of Benson just for fun...

Thanks, Uncle Danny for the penguin, it's Benson's favorite sleeping buddy.
This is him right now. He's just chillin in the bouncer while I blog

Conference Weekend

Well, it seems about time that I make a post on here. I have added some new posts to my blog but I thought I would add some to this blog. These pictures are from after priesthood session of conference. I tried to take a picture of everyone that was there.

I know this looks dangerous, but Nick is just inspecting the air soft gun. Good thing we saved him some pizza...
Boys and their girls.

I really just walked around to take a picture of everyone and I captured exactly how it was with these pictures.
I tried to get them to smile but this was the best they would give me.
We were making frankeinstein candy dishes and McKenzie was making a vampire one. Look at nickandtami.blogspot.com to see my completed one.

Nat just got done feeding Benson. He was posed very cute so we took some pictures.
Notice that Benson was all decked out for the hunt.
This is one of the first times Andy held Benson. Can you tell?

Blog Template

I searched and searched for a Halloween blogger template and was unsuccessfully. So I decided to try my hand at editing one myself. Sorry it is a little bit jumbled together, but I guess I will get better as time goes on. Let me know if you want anything changed on it!

Happy Birthday Shawnee!!!

HAPPY BIRTHDAY SHAWNEE!!

Dear Shawnee,

I just wanted to take a quick second and wish you a happy birthday. I am so glad to have you as a sister. I used to tease Brady about the girl he'd marry and I am so happy that he found you. You're such a great influence on him and I am so proud of both of you.

I remember back in the old days when you two started dating. It was funny to listen to Brady talk about you. He would come into my room late at night and just sit on my bed. I'd know something was up when he wouldn't leave. He'd just sit there and kind of bounce with a silly grin (you know the one I'm talking about!) He'd ask me questions about things he could/should do and he'd tell me about all his little tricks (like losing games) to get to spend time with you.

Speaking of games... if I had time I'd go hunt up those old Sorry tournament pictures and post them here! ha ha ha! That seems like a million years ago that we did that. I'm glad that I got to know you and spend time with you before I moved off to the other side of the country!

I always feel kind of protective of my younger (I started to type little but decided to change my wording!!) brothers and sisters. I always want them to be happy. I know that you make Brady so happy and I am so grateful for that!

I'm also so proud of you for the things you've accomplished. I'm sure that it gets annoying that we always call you asking about whatever hurts us. You've been a huge help to Johnny while his back has been hurt the last few months. We both really appreciate it a bunch!

You're also so incredibly creative. I am jealous of your digital scrapbooks and am going to copy you as soon as I get a chance to figure it out! Everything you do and make (ie: your cute bag that we sewed) turns out great!!

Shawnee, I hope you have a great birthday. I wish I could send you something fabulous, but know that today (and lots of other days too) I'm thinking about you. I love you. Thanks for being a great sister to me!

Love, Em
(and the rest)

A cute picture

I was looking through my pictures for a photo for my next post (stay tuned!!) and I saw this cute picture that I thought you'd enjoy. Anyone know how Judi's doing? Isn't she due soon?

Grandpa

I just posted this picture on my blog but I thought I'd post it here too. I think it's a good picture of Grandpa and the kids. Maybe we could photoshop Benson in the middle there!! (Go to my blog for the full blurb.)

Digital Scrapbooking

Some of you know that I've taken up a new hobby...digital scrapbooking. It's been an interesting journey for me to learn Photoshop, but I feel like I'm finally starting to get the hang of it. So, I thought I'd share one of my recent layouts. Now, for all you Photoshop experts out there, this is nothing fancy! And again for all you Photoshop experts, I may need some tutoring on CS3...Brady gave it to me as an early birthday present tonight!
