We Get to Go Home to Hooper!

Going Home!
General Conference!
April 5, 2020

Today was a beautiful day!

We received a notice yesterday that we would finally be leaving Arequipa.
President Marsh emailed us with the information.  We will be leaving with 84 young Arequipa missionaries going home to the United States.  We will meet at the Arequipa airport at 8:00 am.  We will be screened for the virus, then we will board a Latam plane to Lima.  We will then fly to Los Angeles arriving Monday, the 6th at about 8:00 pm.  We will spend the night in a hotel then Tuesday morning, the 7th, we will get on a Delta flight to Salt Lake City arriving about 4:40 pm.

General Conference
April 4-5

We  were so happy to be able to listen to General Conference. With all the virus stuff going on, missionaries being sent home to their home countries, and all the trouble that seems to be goin on, Wayne and I listened carefully.  The messages were wonderful and full of the spirit.  President
nelson is just a wonderful man.  His messages were great.  I enjoyed all of the talks.  I am so grateful too be a member of the church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints.  It is such a blessing to have a living Prophet,  President Nelson is so loving and kind and his messages always touch the heart.  I like that I feel like he is talking to me.

Today after conference, we had our last lunch with the temple missionaries.  We will miss them and living on the beautiful temple grounds.  It has been a hard few weeks with nothing to really do and accomplish.  We have been blessed with safety, a nice place to live, just enough food, and the sweet spirit of comfort knowing everything would work out.

While we were waiting for the luncheon, we walked outside.  It was beautiful with the big,  fluffy,  billowing white clouds.

The guard on the left gave us a handkerchief with the temple appliqued on it.  It is pretty.

Just a selfie.

We enjoyed the gathering but were anxious to get back to our apartment to finish getting ready to go home to Hooper.  We spent the rest of the day relaxing and getting ready to go home.  We are excited but also sad.  We will miss the beautiful temple, but we won't miss not having anything useful to do.

Tomorrow we will get up at about 5:30 am. We will wash the sheets and bedding, finish cleaning, give away the rest of our food, and we'll finish packing.
Wayne is the best packer ever!   We will leave for the airport at 7:00 am.
