Monday Adventures

Today we began our adventure by riding the blue bus downtown. When we got off the bus, we watched the buses as they came and went. We tried to figure out which buses will go up by the temple. We got off the blue bus by the gold bull in the middle of the street. We walk from there a few blocks to Tottus. If we want to shop at PlazaVea, we walk a few more blocks.
When we want to ride the bus back to the temple, we need to get on it by the Metro store only on the opposite side of the street. The blue bus turns there and goes up toward the temple. It costs us a a sole each to ride the bus. If we took a taxi, it would cost 6 or 7 soles. To get back to the temple, it costs us anywhere from 8 to 12 soles. We always take a taxi after we've been shopping for groceries because it is too hard to carry the groceries, catch a bus and then walk up the hill to the temple with groceries. A taxi will take us from the store to the temple. It's worth the extra cost.
A few weeks ago, Wayne and I ate dinner at a place in the mall called ekeko with James and Whitney Fenn. We liked it then, so we decided to go back.
We decided to try the
Lomo Soltado Con Chapinone y Shitake
It was Lomo Saltado which is pieces of steak grilled with onions, tomatoes and some kind of sauce. It was complimented with mushrooms and Linguine that was cooked in the same saltado sauce. It was very good and we really enjoyed it. It does have a funny name though.
This is the Flor family. They are in the Umagollo ward. They were having lunch for Sister Flor's birthday. The youngest daughter in the back left corner is a worker in the temple and she also has a paying job working with the engineers of the temple.
We did our grocery shopping at Tottus, got a taxi, and came back to our apartment.
We had a great morning and afternoon.
Happy Birthday Alda Doxey
At 5:00 tonight, the 5 temple missionary couples and President and Sister Antelo, had a birthday party for Sister Doxey. Her birthday was on March 3rd, but because we were all gone while the temple was being cleaned, we had the party for family night tonight.
Our assignment was to bring a treat and some drinks. I made some cookies with cut up chocolate candy bars for chocolate chips. Wayne and I got some Fanta, Inca Cola, and Coke from Tottus. Brother Redwood wanted the Coke.
We had an interesting dinner, Papas a la Huancaina, Lasagna, Wheat Bread, Cheese Empanadas, Cookies, and Birthday Cake. It was fun and interesting. We haven't gotten to know these people yet. It is still a little uncomfortable to spend a lot of time with them.

Temple Missionaries
The water was all gone because the cleaning ladies washed the parking lot today with it and ran the well dry. We had a hard time washing dishes without water, but we managed.
It was an interesting night and it was really kind of fun.
