Family Home Evening Quintanilla Style

Family Home Evening
3/2/2020

Tonight at 7:00, Wayne and I were invited to family home evening with the Quintanilla family.  We got on the Huanchaco bus and rode it to their place.  It took us all these years to figure out how to ride the bus to the Palermo.

5 years ago when we went to our first sacrament meeting in Trujillo, we went to the Palermo chapel.  This family and their group of friends welcomed us in as their family.  This visit was no different.  We had the BEST time!  We love them all so much and are so grateful for the wonderful examples of ministering, fellow shipping, and just being good people they are.

The families are:
Quintanilla
Haro
Tirado
Valdivia

Brother Quintanilla gave a wonderful short lesson about listening to the spirit.  it was simple but so good.   We had chicken, rice and green salad to eat with chocolate cake for our dessert.  It was wonderful.
After the lesson, we had a good time listening to musical numbers and laughing as we enjoyed the evening with these families who are like one big family.

The Valdivia girl is 9, she sang Edelweiss in English.  It was sweet.

Jeffrey Qintanilla was face timing the whole evening.  He is going to school in Salt Lake with his brother Diego and Hyrum Tirado.  All of these boys are engaged.

Diego is getting married to Vanessa Hernandez on June 5th in the San Diego Temple.
Jeffrey is getting married to Tonya Azabache on June 26th in the Trujillo Temple.
Hyrum is getting married in July to a girl from Mexico and I don't remember the day or where.
Kevin and Joel Haro are dating, no wedding plans yet.
Joshua Valdivia is married.

We had such a good evening and enjoyed it all.  It is fun to see these families growing, they are fun to be with, and you can feel the good spirit they have about them.  We are blessed by these wonderful families and so glad we can in some way be a small part of their lives.

We are so blessed!

At 10:30 pm, we all realized it was late.  We got a taxi and went back to the temple and to our room.
