Plaza de Aramas

Today is Monday!
Presidents Day in Utah
February 17, 2020

The first thing I did this morning was cut Wayne's hair.
I was able to clean the apartment and I did the laundry including the sheets.  I love having everything be so clean and tidy.  Wayne did some Unicad work.

After we were both finished with our morning, we left the apartment at about noon.  When we walked outside, we saw them washing the temple with a long pole.  Wayne said it extends more than is pictured.  When we lived in Trujillo, we saw the cleaning of the temple grounds, lights, fence, sidewalks, parking lot, temple, and all of the surroundings.  Since our apartment is on the back side, we miss everything that goes on around the temple grounds, I miss it.

Wayne and I decided to walk to the Plaza de Aramas.  It was a long walk, but we didn't walk fast and we enjoyed the scenery along the way.

I thought these little orange flowers were pretty.

This was going on down in the terraced farm land in the gully down the hill from the temple.

We saw this house with Nauvoo on the outside.  Not sure what that's all about.

I love seeing women walking around town with blankets tied around their backs. It is so Peruvian

This museum was on the way to Yanahuara where the arches are.

Sitting by the arches

The view from the arches.  El Misti, the volcano is to the left behind the clouds.

Relaxing at Yanahuara, the place with the arches.

I sure love spending time with Wayne!

These are some pictures we took at Yanahuara

This picture was taken in the little area called Yanahuara,  Its on a hill with three arches that look over the city. The building is made of the white sillar stone.

Another building built with the white sillar stone.

When you walk down the streets, the streets are lined with walls.  On the walls are little doors and behind the doors and walls are some pretty amazing places.  This one had a shopping area with qa food court behind the wall and back inside.

Narrow hilly streets

We don't usually see houses with a pitched roof.

This home has a white rod iron fence around it.  I put a picture of it a week or so ago.  Today we were able to tell what it was.  It's as beautiful house, inside they sell things that are hand made.  We did not go inside to look.

This pretty picture was inside the door of one of the restaurants.

The main street downtown where Tottus is is always busy with a lot of little buses lined up trying to get people places.

Backed up traffic.

As we walked along, we saw this big roaring river.  It looked muddy, but it was really quite pretty and amazing.

Wayne standing on the bridge over the river.

Wayne took this picture of me taking a picture of the river.

We made it ti the Plaza de Aramas, it was very crowded.  We found a bench to sit on and just enjoyed the moment as we watched the people come and go.

Fountain at the plaza

Pigeons aere everywhere.  The kids were playing with them and chasing them

The plaza

Wwe ate lunch at Burger King.  We had chicken sandwiches 2 for 10 soles and a drink with fries was 5 soles more.  We sat and enjoyed it however, the sandwiches were not at all like the pictures.

This was so funny to watch.  The restrooms were up those stairs.  A young man moped the stairs and pout the signs on them to keep people from falling on the wet steps.  The problem is they couldn't get up or down without stepping between the signs.
