First Sunday

Our First Sunday in Arequipa

February 9, 2020

We were happy for Sunday so we could go to church to meet the members here in Arequipa.  We decided to go to the 9:30 ward.  As we walked outside, the view of the temple was beautiful.  

We got a taxi and were on our way. 

We arrived at the chapel about 15 minutes early and the members were very kind to us.  We shook lots of hand and I gave lots of cheek kisses.  We were welcomed as missionaries in the temple.  They had 3 speakers there was a piano player which was usual, we usually sing accompaniment.  It was a good meeting.  The ward is called Umagollo.

We decided to stay to the 12:00 meeting, Barrio Libertad, which was much like Barrio Umagallo,   but Barrio Libertad didn't have a piano player.

The guard at the gate was very fun to talk to.  We'll get to know him better I think.

This is the building where we live  It's on the temple grounds. Our apartment is down at the end in the back, on the top.  We don't see very much of what's going on around the temple. 

The temple grounds are beautiful as you would expect. 

There are a lot of these purple bushes.  Hummingbirds like them.

Our window is the back corner window on the top.

This is a play area is for the kids waiting to be sealed to their parents.  Inside there is a nice place with toys, books, snack area and a TV to watch movies.  It seems like they let the kids play there that aren't waiting to be sealed also.  We can hear them outside our back windows.

The two top on the corners are in our living room.  The other one is in our bedroom.

We are enjoying it all!

Our first Sunday was good.
