Saturday I fried my blower dryer.  We knew it was dual voltage but didn't know we needed to turn the knob to change it from 110 to 220.  When I plugged it in, it sparked, popped, shot out flames, and smoke!  We had to run it under the water to stop the smoke, we didn't want the smoke detector to go off.  eek!  I had to let my hair dry curly.   

The Doxey's invited us to go with them for the afternoon, to show us where Tottus was and to help us know where to find things.  Tottus is a store similar to Wal-Mart.  We rode the very crowded blue bus.   This sign was the place we got off the bus.   

We walked around the block to Sol de Mayo.

It was a nice restaurant.  One of Sister Doxey's cousins came to lunch with us.  Wayne and I shared a Lomo Saltado.  We got to know the Doxey's a little and had a good time.  We also enjoyed the Peruvian music.

After lunch we all walked to Tottus which was close.  We bought some groceries and a few things we needed for our apartment.  We shared a taxi with the Doxey's to get our groceries home (9 soles) .

 It was a good day!
