Happy Birthday Grandma Barker!

Today is my Grandma Gladys Barker's birthday.  I love her so much!  She taught me so much and I think of her every day.  I love you Grandma Barker!

This morning, Wayne and I went to the temple to do our shift.  It was so nice to see an american couple. We met James and Whitney Fenn!  What wonderful people!!  James built the Trujillo temple and did such a great job, the church had him to build the Arequipa temple. We've heard our friends the Hartman's, Fackrell's, and Marler's say so many good things about them.  We've felt bad we didn't get to meet them.   James and Whitney they left Trujillo right before we got there to go build the Arequipa temple.  Wayne and I are so glad they're still here.  The Fenn's will be here in Arequipa for a few more months, then they will move to Lima, to work on the new Lima temple.   We're going to love having them here as long as it lasts.   

James made arrangements for us to go to dinner with them on Friday night.  He called us later this afternoon and we decided to go tonight.  they picked us up and took us to a little crapes and sandwich place near the plaza.  We had such a good time talking to them about people, places, and things we have in common in Trujillo.  It was so nice to just visit with them and to speak English. We talked about Miguel and Suzie Lacerna and their boys Samir and James.  Little James is named after James Fenn.  Whitney said James and Miguel are like brothers.  We really enjoyed our evening with James and Whitney.  They are wonderful people! 

After dinner, we walked in the rain, around the Plaza.  They showed us some cute shops and places to eat. If we only knew all the little fun places they've learned about while helping to build temples.  Whitney was telling me about the different textiles they used to furnish our apartments and where they got them.  I'd love to just go with her to discover and find fun things like this.
