Bill and Sandy * The Best Thing About Memories....

Sunday
May 20, 2017
We received this email from Bill and Sandy today.  They've been home from their mission for 6 months.  We miss them every day, but are so grateful for the good times we shared with them.
I thought this pretty much explains what our days were like with them at the temple.   I want to include it here.
So glad Bill kept track of all the stats.

Bill's email...... I got to thinking where I was going to take Sandy this coming Saturday , May 27th, for our 46th  wedding anniversary and decided to find out what we did a year ago in Peru form the Missionary Journal.  We thought you'd enjoy this entry too!!!

What a crazy week.  We had afternoons with Haws & Gomez.  We thought we were safe not getting the 7 p.m. sessions which we were assigned both Tuesday and Wednesday nights.  We had a session all five days with nuevos or nuevas in every one of them.  16 women and 6 men Tuesday, 2 men 6 women Wednesday. Thursday 4:00 p.m. 1 nueva with 4 men and 10 women.  Friday was our anniversary.  We went to Chilli's for a great lunch and went home to rest up for the 3:30 p.m. to 9:30 p.m. shift.  We got a call at 2 p.m. to come and do the 2:30 p.m. session.  Only three Obreros showed up for the shift!  It was a crazy night.  Elder Gomez and I with a little help from Mr. Magoo staffed the Mesa de recommendation for 2 or 3 hours stints.  We had another nueva in our session.  Wayne came back after working the morning shift to do the 7 p.m. session.  Lots of Obreros did not show up including the coordinators on Friday and Saturday afternoons for the men.

After an exhausting day on Friday, the Haws and us were asked to be at the Temple the following morning.  We needed to be there by 6 a.m. for a special session of members who came with the Fackrells and President Marler.  A 6:30 a.m. chapel meeting and 7 a.m. session.  Most came from Casa Grande Stake.  Bentleys also brought 56 people Saturday from Pacasmayo.  Large sessions put an additional load on the missionaries.  We also were assigned the 1 p.m. afternoon session with 23 women and 10 men.  The morning sessions were more than full.  Sandy had three nuevas, I had one nuevo.  Sandy had a deaf woman and a headset.  She was actually harder to dress than the nuevas.  She expected her to completely dress her.

One more comical note, when Wayne escorted the session from one room to the other, the 2nd segadora closed the door after the women left the 1st room.  Wayne had to go back and get all the men, who were all still in the first room sitting in their seats.

Fun memories of  serving with Bill and Sandy Hartman!!
