Alaska * Tamales * Mall * The Tree

Alaska

A few days ago, Greg talked to Wayne and invited him to go to Alaska fishing with him on July 15th.  We arrive home from our mission on July 11th, so Wayne has a new adventure waiting for him when we get home.  I think it will be fun for him to spend some time with Greg.  They always seem to enjoy each others company and I am happy for this time they can share together.

We will be speaking in sacrament meeting now on the 23rd of July.  I can't believe how fast the days are going by.  I'm already missing the people we love here.

Tamales
May 17, 2017

Today Sister Avalos brought all of the missionaries Tamales.  We gave ours to Sister Gomez to cook for us because we don't know how to cook them.  We brought them to us about an hour and a half later.  We ate them, they were much different than I expected, different but good.  It was nice of Sister Avalos to do this for us.

The Mall For Lunch
May 18th 2017

Wayne and I went downstairs on our way to the mall, we saw this cute couple that had been sealed in the temple.
It's always so neat to see couples after they've been sealed.

We walked to the mall for lunch and found this going on.  Men were walking on the tarp that covers the food court.  They were washing it with water and scrubbing it with a brush. It took them several weeks to fix and make patches from the damage of the huico.

Wishes and The Tree
5/20/2017

The trees on the temple grounds have really grown a lot since we've been here.  There is one tree that we notice more than the others.  It's out our balcony window a little to the left.  A few days ago, Wayne mentioned how it was getting too big and blocking our view of what's going on outside.  It was the next, the wind was blowing hard and the tree broke off, a few hours later another piece broke off.  I guess Wayne should be careful at some of the things he wished to be different.

This is what it looks like now. We have a better view of what's going on outside though.
