Christmas Eve

Last night was our Wayne Haws family Christmas party.   We have a wonderful family.  We love everyone of them and are so thankful for the great people they are.  We miss them terribly but are so grateful for the time Wayne and I are sharing here in Trujillo.   Christmas and Family just go together.

We went to the Real Plaza, so we left about 10:00 am.  The mall was very busy

After we left the mall, we walked to Squalos and had a wonderful lunch.  Wayne got his usual Tallarines Alfredo with a little steak.  I had a small salad.  It was delicious and we enjoyed it. 

We wanted to go back to the plaza at night to see all the lights on, so we decided to go home and do a few thigns then go back to the plaza later to see the lights.  

these pictures I took from the taxi on the way home.  This corner is always busy and these families are always on the corner selling stuff.  It makes me sad to think these little kids spend their growing up days selling on the street.  this strip of grass is between two lanes of traffic on each side.  

We went back to the plaza, we got there before it was dark so we walked up to Espana, the main street and we couldn't believe the traffic.  It was busy.  these are some pictures we took.  

We sat and rested as we waited for it to get dark enough for the lights to be turned on sown the pedestrian street, then we walked back down to the Plaza.  

We saw this cute nativity scene in one of the little tiendas.  I liked it because it has llamas.

We ate dinner at McDonald's and really enjoyed the evening together.  It was nice to see all the lights and the excitement of the people in the plaza as we walked around.  Many of the people believe in Christ and know that His birth is the reason for Christmas.  

I am so thankful for this wonderful time of year and the feeling of love that fills the air. I'm thankful  for this Christmas with Wayne in Peru!
